Snow and fog have closed a road between Soran district and Raparin administration in the Kurdistan Region, an official said on Tuesday (December 10).
Khasraw Sadiq, director of the fourth section of protecting roads in Soran said that the weather had created obstacles for drivers in Zini Warte on the Soran-Raparin road.
He added that the directorate’s teams will be transferred to the area to clear the road, which runs through Sulaimani province to the Haji Omaran border crossing with Iran.
A wave of snow and rain hit the Kurdistan Region beginning on Friday night. The General Directorate of Meteorology and Seismology in the Region said on Tuesday that it expects snow to continue in some areas and the mountains.
